3.11.6.16. Adjustment of an axial gap of bearings of a secondary shaft

NOTE
Carry out adjustment only in case of replacement of bearings.

Establish a main shaft together with bearings and a ring for preliminary adjustment (B.Vi.1161) 0,62 mm thick (small outer diameter).
Establish a differential case, establish and tighten bolts of the socket of a box and a plate of an arm of the indicator of arrow type (B.Vi.1161) on fastenings of the case of a tripoid.
Establish:
– plug (B.Vi.1527) A;
– a basic ring In;
– a gear wheel ring With;

– the nut wrapped until the end of D (fig. 3.91).

Fig. 3.92. Installation of the arrow indicator

Install the indicator of arrow type with a magnetic support (fig. 3.92).
Several times turn a main shaft that bearings rose into place.
Establish zero on an indicator scale.
Using two screw-drivers as levers, pull a main shaft up.
Consider the indication of the indicator of arrow type.
Several times repeat these operations in the same sequence.
Define average value of the received sizes.
Calculate thickness for a ring of adjustment of a preliminary tension on the following formula of calculation:
ring thickness for preliminary adjustment + average value of indications of the indicator of arrow type – 0,02 (this value should be subtracted to provide the minimum gap) = to ring thickness for adjustment.
Example (values in mm):
– ring thickness for preliminary adjustment 0,62 + average value of indications of the indicator of arrow type 0,50-0,02 (this value should be subtracted to provide the minimum gap) = to ring thickness for adjustment 1,10.

NOTE
A set of adjusting rings 0,86-1,30 mm thick with a step of 0,04 mm is delivered on replacement.
