2.4.3.1. Operating modes of the phase-shifter (K4M engine)
Fig. 2.229. Electromagnetic valve of the phase-shifter: 1 – valve
|
Oil moves to the phase-shifter by means of the electromagnetic valve installed on a head of the block of cylinders (fig. 2.229).
On the valve power supply in the form of a variable signal of extent of cyclic opening moves (amplitude 12 in and with a frequency of 250 Hz) that it allows to give oil to the mechanism, and thus, to change the angle of shift of phases.
EBU feeds the electromagnetic valve with a variable signal of extent of cyclic opening which size is proportional to the required shift of phases.
Phases smoothly change from 0 to 43 ° on an angle of rotation of a bent shaft.
The control of the electromagnetic valve of the phase-shifter of the camshaft occurs at observance of the following conditions:
– lack of malfunction of the sensor of frequency of rotation of a bent shaft;
– lack of malfunctions of sensors of position of camshafts;
– lack of malfunctions in system of injection;
– after start of the engine;
– during the operation of the engine not idling at the released accelerator pedal;
– threshold value of a profile of the injection established taking into account loading and the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft is received;
– temperature of cooling liquid is within 10-120 °C;
– the increased oil temperature in the engine.
Standby mode:
– return of the phase-shifter to a starting position;
– zero shift of phases.
ATTENTION
When blocking the electromagnetic valve in open situation the engine unstably idles, pressure in an inlet collector is increased, the increased noisiness of the engine is also noted.
