2.9.1. Removal and installation of preliminary catalytic converter (F4R engine)
Removal
For removal of preliminary catalytic converter remove the engine.

Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the thermal screen (fig. 2.289).
Disconnect blocks of wires from oxygen sensors.
Remove an arm of the top fastening and the top strut.
Remove an arm of fastening of a strut of catalytic converter on the transmission.

Turn off nuts of fastening of catalytic converter on a turbocompressor and remove catalytic converter (fig. 2.290).
Remove oxygen sensors on a workbench.
ATTENTION
Replace sealing laying of a flange of an exhaust pipe and a turbocompressor.

Installation
Install oxygen sensors.
Tighten the required moment (38 N · l) bolts of fastening of the top strut to the engine.
Turn to a contact in that order:
– bolts of fastening of an arm of the top fastening;
– nuts of fastening of catalytic converter on a turbocompressor;
– a bolt of fastening of catalytic converter on the top strut.
Tighten in that order the required moment:
– a bolt of fastening of catalytic converter to the top strut (8,5 N · l);
– bolts of fastening of the top pad to a final collector (8,5 N · l);
– bolts of fastening of the top pad to preliminary catalytic converter (8,5 N · l);
– nuts of fastening of catalytic converter to a turbocompressor (40 N · l);
– oxygen sensors (34 N · l);
– hairpins of fastening of a flange of the final pipeline (8,5 N · м).
Installation is made as it should be, the return to removal.
