7.6.4. Removal and installation of the dashboard
Removal

NOTE
Before performance of work with elements of a security system it is necessary to block EBU of safety cushions by means of the diagnostic unit. At the same time all chains of ignition are blocked, and on a guard of devices the alarm lamp of safety cushions (lights up constant light at the included ignition).
When blocking EBU of safety cushions the electric lock of a steering column also opens.

ATTENTION
You are strictly forbidden to work with pyrotechnic systems (safety cushions and prednatyazhitel of seat belts) near sources of heat or naked flame as there is a danger of operation of safety cushions or prednatyazhitel of seat belts.
|
Disconnect wires from plugs of the rechargeable battery, since the minus plug.
Remove the central console.

Unscrew screws, disconnect a stopper and remove the panel of the switch of the proofreader of headlights and the regulator of brightness of lighting of devices (fig. 7.64).

ATTENTION
Stoppers are subject to replacement after each removal.
|
Turn a steering wheel half way to get access to an opening.

Insert the screw-driver into an opening and take the capsule of a safety cushion (fig. 7.65).

Turn off a bolt of fastening of a steering wheel and remove its (fig. 7.68).

Turn off three lower screws of fastening and remove the top and lower understeering casings (fig. 7.69).
Note position of the block of understeering switches.
Make sure that the tag on a contact disk settles down opposite to the index.

Remove the block of understeering switches, having turned off the screw of fastening (fig. 7.70).
Disconnect the block from a steering column.
Disconnect blocks of wires (the switch of screen wipers, PDU of the audio system, the switch of external lighting, indexes of turn and fog light).
Disconnect a block of wires from a contact disk.

Unscrew two screws, disconnect two top clamps and remove the second lower understeering casing (fig. 7.71).

NOTE
On cars without computer-controlled climatic installation unscrew screws, disconnect the central nozzle of ventilation from the control panel of climatic installation or system of heating.
|
Remove a ventilation nozzle.
Put the control panel of climatic installation so that it did not prevent removal of the dashboard.
Separate sockets.
Open a ware box.

Remove a side guard (fig. 7.83).
Switch-off the switch of shutdown of a frontal safety cushion of the forward passenger.

Disconnect a stopper, turn off screws of fastening and remove a ware box (fig. 7.84).

Unscrew the fastening screw, disconnect a block of wires from the passenger airbag and disconnect a "mass" wire of a safety cushion (fig. 7.86).

ATTENTION
Before removal of the dashboard provide protection of a plait of wires against damages. Pay attention: at removal of the dashboard, in its lower part interferes with removal the gear shifting lever.

Remove the dashboard (this operation is carried out together with the assistant) (fig. 7.87).

Turn off nuts of fastening and take the module of a safety cushion (fig. 7.88).
Installation

ATTENTION
At each removal of the passenger airbag surely replace the nuts fixing it to the dashboard.
|
Tighten the required moment 2 N · m screws of fastening of the module of a safety cushion.

Establish two stoppers (fig. 7.89).
|
ATTENTION
Both stoppers are subject to obligatory replacement.
|
Before starting installation, be convinced that wheels still are in situation for the movement on a straight line, and the block of understeering switches – opposite to a tag.

The steering wheel has to come freely into vents (vents have the focusing sites) (fig. 7.90).
Try not to damage vents of the focusing sites.
Surely replace a fastening bolt after each removal of a steering wheel.
Tighten the required moment 440 N · m a bolt of fastening of a steering wheel.

ATTENTION
Check EBU of safety cushions the diagnostic unit.
|

ATTENTION
Check purity of an electrical wiring at installation of the module of a safety cushion.

Check reliability of connection and blocking of sockets of a safety cushion (fig. 7.91).
Connect a "mass" wire of the module of the passenger airbag.
Tighten the required moment 20 N · m the screw of fastening of the holder.

ATTENTION
Unblock EBU of safety cushions by means of the diagnostic unit.
|
Attach wires to plugs of the rechargeable battery, since the plus plug; execute necessary programming.
Tighten the required moment 4 N · m bolts of fastening of a cover of the rechargeable battery.
Installation of other components is made as it should be, the return to removal.
